We Are Spirit

How many times have you had a conversation with someone about Christ or faith or maybe just life when you are asked the question "how is your spiritual life going??" Maybe you have asked the question yourself.  I have been thinking about this for a while and it occurs to me that this question is kind of silly.  I know we are made in the image of God, born with a place in us that can only be filled truly by Christ and a relationship with Him. Being made in the image of God doesn't just mean we have a spirit but that we are a spirit.  We can not, nor should we, seperate certain parts of our lives as though we are seperating a pie.  Its so easy to look at our lives in pieces like: my work, family, finances, church, etc.  But the truth is we are born with a spirit and when we accept Christ the spirit of God becomes the very foundation of who we are.  It should consume every area of our lives. We should be impacted by the spirit of Christ in our work, family, finances, church, etc.  Our "spiritual lives" are at the very core of who we are.

John 4:24 says "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth".

May we recognize God in our lives.  May he work in us and through us.  May we worship Him with the right heart attitude and learn who He is through His word.  If we are made in His image, and I believe we are, then we are spirit as well.  I pray that you will join me this week in sharing your heart with Him and getting to know who He really is.  Why look for spiritual answers from any other source than the one who made you and gave you His spirit. Don't be decieved but seek after the one that can and is waiting to change your life.  Jesus Christ is the only one that holds all the answers and Hope you need.

Im praying for you!!! Enjoy your week and look for Gods little surprises in the most unexpected places.

Choosing a Name

This is my first post, so I thought I would share why I chose journeywithme333 as my url name.  I believe that we are all on a journey from the day we are born.  I also believe that we are all spiritual in nature and that our spiritual life is NOT just a part of us, but it is actually the foundation of every part of us.  The journey that we are on is one of discovery and adventure, and the purpose is to draw us to our Heavenly Father - God.  I don't believe we often realize that's what's happening, and a lot of times people are in a sense "sleep walking" through life. When they finally "wake up" to the drawing of the Holy Spirit then life changes.  Finding God is not the beginning of our journey but an important part of our jouney that will continue as we walk through life.
I chose 333 because of a verse found in the Bible, Jeremiah 33:3, that states  "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." My dad use to share this with me when I was growing up and had questions that I really didn't know the answers to.  My questions were not always about God but about life in general.  He told me that there is nothing that God cannot reveal to me if I took the time to ask him.  I have found this to be true.  So I am hoping and praying as we journey together in this blog that there will be times that "we just don't know" and we can trust that God will reveal himself.  Not knowing is somewhat exciting for me because I believe God uses our questions and searching Him out to draw closer to us and reveal more of who He is.
My prayer as we journey together is that we will be drawn closer to God our Father, we will be stretched in our faith, we will grow tremdously but most of all we will be shaped and molded to become what God desires us to be...more and more CHRISTlike.
